Three reasons Saturday was a great day:
1. PSU Farmers Market: Once again Matt and I ventured out to the Farmer’s Market Saturday morning. I picked up enough greens to last me a week (I’ve been having salads for lunch lately) and some radishes since they are in season. We picked up some lunch for Pine State Biscuits – they are a pretty popular vendor at the market, specializing in North Carolina style biscuits, gravy, and fried chicken. We both order biscuit sandwiches with the works: chicken, gravy, bacon, egg and cheese. It was tasty, but a bit too much for me – next time I will stick to just egg and cheese!
2. Long walk: After such an indulgent lunch, we walked home instead of riding the street car. Spring is here in Portland – the tulips are in full bloom in our neighborhood now:
3. New dresser: The second hand dresser in the bedroom finally broke… The drawers had been jamming for weeks, and yesterday the bottom just fell out of one. Time for a trip to Ikea! Shopping at Ikea tends to give me a migraine since it is always so crowded, but we were able to stay focused on the need (one dresser) and picked out one that wasn’t the most expensive. Matt spent all day putting it together while watching Final Four basketball games, but it all paid off because now we have a fancy new dresser with drawers that actually open:
