Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Three reasons I’m happy tonight:

1) Sellwood Park: We started off our St. Patrick’s Day by exploring Sellwood Park, on the Southeast side along the river. We checked out various areas of the park, including some trails and the river bank:

The dogs had a blast, stopping to smell all the roses (and daffodils):

And patrolling for squirrels:

Isn’t the saying ‘April showers bring May flowers?’ Well, I’m not sure what will happen in May; the flowers are already here in March:

2) Fish-N-Chips: After our hike, we hit up a local pub for lunch called Macadams. It claims to be an Irish Pub so there was green glittery shamrocks pasted everywhere to prove it. Matt and I both enjoyed an order of fish-n-chips, although, that might be more English than Irish? Oops! It was still a tasty lunch:

3) Guinness: For dessert, we went home and enjoyed a couple of pints of Guinness outside on our balcony. We also started to research our tentative trip back to Ireland in 2014. And Lucie kept us company:

Question: How did you celebrate St. Patrick’s Day?

  1. We don’t celebrate it here; unless you’re of Irish background I guess. The only exception seems to be students – neither of our older two would have had a clue about St P’s day till they went to uni.
It’s funny seeing a greyhound on an apartment balcony! Quite the chic urban dweller. I wonder what mine would make of that – she’s just getting to grips with stairs recently.
